How to unprotect data directory with voluptuous and vmdk-utils?

I have successfully managed to encrypt and password protect my data partition using the following steps:
1) Installed Voluptuous using pip
pip install voluptuous

2) Used the voluptuous.Encrypted directory in the library
from voluptuous import Encrypted

3) Created a certificate for the data partition using the script from this SO answer.
Here is the script
#!/usr/bin/env python
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-

import os
import subprocess
from cryptography.x509 import Certificate
import sys

def run_script(crypt_script):
p = subprocess.Popen([‘bash’, crypt_script], stdin=subprocess.PIPE, stdout=subprocess.PIPE, stderr=subprocess.PIPE, shell=True)
stdout, stderr = p.communicate()
return stdout

Missing methods for views in Rails

I have an extremely simple question that I am completely unable to answer.
I am new to Rails so excuse my ignorance on this subject.
I have a view that has this line:

The shipping_list_items is a method I created in my cart controller. But for some reason, whenever I do that in the browser (chrome), I get an error:
NoMethodError in Carts#show
undefined method `shipping_list_items’ for #

But for some reason, it works fine when I do this in the console:

Also, I have an @cart instance variable in my cart controller and a show method for that controller, and those both seem to be working fine. Yet, the show method does not include the shipping_list_items method. So it’s like the show method is ignoring it.
Any help would be appreciated.

There is always possible to extend Rail’s scaffold views (by copying relevant files). It’s not a good practice though as you’ll have to commit/revert the changes each time you update Rails. A better option is to use something like haml or slim. You can also use a javascript view (content_for).
