On March 31, 2014, Autodesk ended support for earlier versions of AutoCAD and discontinued its Windows desktop versions of AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD 2010. Autodesk plans to continue developing and releasing new features and new versions of AutoCAD for the foreseeable future.

AutoCAD was originally developed as a drawing and drafting tool for architects and engineers. The software was originally known as MicroStation, but Autodesk renamed it when it switched from the DOS to the Windows operating system in 1983. Autodesk bought and adopted MicroStation for its own use in 1987, renaming it AutoCAD.

Release history

A survey conducted in June 2010 by Alion Science and Technology found that Autodesk AutoCAD was the most popular CAD software among architects, engineers, and other professions.

Work on the Windows/Macintosh version of the product began in 1982 when Autodesk developed an early editor called AutoCAD-Edit for DOS. This version of AutoCAD was focused on the design and drafting of three-dimensional solid modeling programs. During the 1980s, AutoCAD featured parametric objects, multilevel surfaces, and extensive features for topography.

Rising popularity

The success of AutoCAD was also attributed to its ease of use and the speed with which it rendered models. AutoCAD made it easy to enter 2-D drawing commands, and due to its auto-save and auto-reload features, it made drawing speed more important than accuracy. As a result of AutoCAD’s popularity in the 1980s, Autodesk was able to release its first Windows-based version of the product, AutoCAD LT, in March 1989. The software was a simple, low-cost version of AutoCAD that was advertised as running on a PC with a 40-column dot-matrix monitor.

AutoCAD was expanded to 3-D design and rendering in 1992. Before the release of AutoCAD V2.0 in 1995, Autodesk released a portable version of AutoCAD called AutoCAD Web Design in 1994. With the release of AutoCAD V2.0, a significant number of functions were added to the software.

Autodesk’s release of AutoCAD 2007 brought many new features, including tablet, iPhone, and Web-based applications, which were made available in 2011.

How to show 3 children of a component in 1 page?

I have a component that has 3 children.
I want to show one component at a time.

you can use a flexbox to achieve this. I would use a flexbox wrapper component, then the would be on the wrapper element, and then each child component would use to be shown.
like this:

.parent {
display: flex;

.parent > slot {
width: 100%;
height: 100%;

child component should be :

then you can control the visibility with css:
.child {
display: none;

and then show them with:
.parent:hover.child {
display: block;

What’s New in the AutoCAD?

Automatically place the imported text in the correct location, with any other markup that you apply to the drawing at the same time. (video: 1:15 min.)

Annotations on drawings that include imported text are aligned and placed in the correct location, even when the font used is different from the imported text. (video: 1:15 min.)

Labeled text notes appear in drop-down lists and include any text notes that are already in the drawing. (video: 1:15 min.)

Import and apply markup to objects and entities automatically. (video: 1:15 min.)

Generate crosshairs when two or more annotations overlap the same object. (video: 1:15 min.)

Automatically add markup to images as they are imported. (video: 1:15 min.)

Use a separate annotation for parts of the image that cannot be labeled. (video: 1:15 min.)

Automatically insert and annotate images that you have imported from your computer. (video: 1:15 min.)

Markup that you create and manage using AutoCAD Label is available in AutoCAD as well. Check out Markup Assist to see how it works.

Note: A separate drawing is required if you are using the “Save as” option with Markup Assist. You can get a free sample drawing from the AutoCAD Customer Center.

New and improved color handling:

Work with alpha channels (transparency) in 32-bit files in a single pass. (video: 1:18 min.)

Check for hidden objects, including the canvas and underlying objects, in a single pass. (video: 1:18 min.)

Color is automatically assigned to contour lines, polylines, and splines that are based on a specified color, even if they were created in a different color channel. (video: 1:18 min.)

Continuous color is applied automatically to any color you specify for new contour lines and splines. (video: 1:18 min.)

Apply a single color to the entire model with a single command. (video: 1:18 min.)

Work with images as transparent layers that include or hide other layers. (video:
