High-level modeling

The 2D and 3D drawing view provides a canvas onto which the design process is performed. Common elements can be selected and moved around in space and dropped into the document (sketchpad).

Relationships between the component parts can be established and properties assigned. A number of different modeling operations are possible including creating entities such as circle, ellipse, line, polyline, arc, square, rectangle, spline, or any other geometric figure or area.

While geometry is modeled, it can be grouped into a project-based working area to which entities can be added. Units of measurement can be assigned, calculated, and compared to other entities in the model.

Relationships are the basis of all other modeling work. They can be created between entities such as walls and rooms, or between entities and a building and its component parts such as doors and windows. The following relationships can be established:


Binary relationships are supported by selecting a component and pressing the F2 (intersection) or F3 (bond) key.

Multiple entities are related through alignment, mirroring, and splitting. By splitting entities in the model, their building blocks can be more easily arranged.

Dimensioning is the task of defining the exact location of the components within the building or site plan. It involves locating entities within space and providing information on their orientation. For example, one of the following properties can be assigned to an entity:
