I’m using sed to remove a word from the beginning of a filename. After running the script, I get an error.

If I just echo the script, I can see that it works and it seems to be looking for FOO, but not seeing it:

The filename is at $filename. I’m unsure why it isn’t seeing FOO. The script is being run on a bash shell on a mac.
The problem is that the -i option specifies that a backup is made. Then you try to use this backup file (which you have named i.bak). But since you are running the script in a shell with the -i option specified, the shell is treating the backup file as the standard input, so it is expecting a file named i.bak. You probably need to remove the -i option (otherwise the shell will try to use the backup file as the input), or to change the name of the backup file.
